This Baby:

  • is nine months old
  • has four teeth and bites when she gives kisses
  • crawls on her hands and knees
  • cruises along furniture
  • eats table food
  • is attached to her mommy and is having a some separation anxiety
  • started acting a little shy and turns her head or covers her face sometimes when people smile at her
  • gets into EVERYTHING
  • gives hugs and pats on your back
  • is learning to clap her hands
  • babbles to herself
  • gets lots of love from her family
  • crawled around today with one leg sticking straight out to the side...weird.

Thanks a Bunch!!

For Thanksgiving I crashed my older brother's party. I found out my sister was going to his house and so I told her I wanted to come too. A couple of days later we were magically "invited." Big Morty made up for us crashing by helping my brother put up some dry wall.
On the was up to Illinois we came across a very unusual McDonald's...well actually its kind of hard to miss since it is OVER the freeway. So we stopped in to grab a little something to eat. No Blonde Boy, don't eat the cars!! Heh, heh. Yeah it took forever to get his hand in the right spot.
We spent a great weekend doing this: (because some of us are dorks) and eating of course. My bother made a super yummy turkey (insert picture here) Hey Uncle Jack, e-mail me the pictures I took with your camera. (he bought a fancy new camera I had to play with)
Here are some random cute kids. This picture is my favorite:I'm so glad we got to visit it was lots of fun.

The Blankie

My mom had this drawer full of my dad's shirts. Shirts he loved and shirts he wore while he was sick. What do you do with a drawer of old shirts? Nothing, they have been sitting there for three years. Well, every time we went to clean it out there were tears in our eyes and we ended up just closing the drawer and moving on to other things. Then and idea struck and I took the shirts and made my mom a blankie to snuggle up in when it is cold. She is living in Logan, Utah right now and by gum it gets cold there so I suspect she'll be using it a lot. I even used a pair of the flannel pants my dad used to wear all the time to bind the edge. Now we don't have to wonder what to do with that drawer full of shirts.

8 Months

Oh my sweet Baby Girl!! You are growing too fast. I held you tonight and rocked you to sleep because you are congested and teething, and because I love to hold you cuddled up to me. I can't believe it was eight months ago I held your tiny body so new and fresh to this world, my how you've changed. You have grown two teeth this month and have two more just ready to break through. You have figured out how to chew solid foods so the your baby food days are numbered. Your siblings have been standing you up by the couches and letting you hang on. A few nights ago you inched your way from one end of the couch to the other. All too soon you will be running around with your brothers and sisters, even now you army crawl through out the whole house. It may take you a while but you get to where you want to be. Can't I just stop time? Can't I just keep you, my last baby, small forever to love on and snuggle with and revel in your babiness? I feel like the days are just slipping on and my baby will be gone with them.

Halloween Fun

Here are my hooligans on Halloween. Baby Girl was a ballerina The tongue is standard fare these days since she is teething. Blonde Boy was Thomas because what little boy wouldn't want to be? Little Girl was Ariel, note the mermaid pose. Only girls with red hair should be Ariel according to her. She is pretty good at posing for me, but put a little make-up on the girl and she really lays it on. She was quite demure after I added that little touch to her costume. Morty Jr was GI Joe, but good luck getting a decent shot of this guy lately(nice he is strangling his sister). I had to threaten not going trick-or-treating to get him outside. We never do get a great picture of all the kids, but at least Big Morty was pretty cooperative. Baby Girl was in a fightin' mood She was having a good old time smacking Big Morty in the face and head. She thought it was hillarious, but he got her back with a little "smooshing faces". And now...Good night!

Packing Light

I was packing for a trip to Kentucky last week when I went out to the living room where the kids were watching a movie and found this in one of the suitcases
